to Address Socio-Economic Determinants of Health : During 2008, the Choosing Healthful Interventions Study was
conducted to ascertain the priorities of low income residents of Washington,
DC for interventions that might address the socio-economic determinants
of health and reduce health disparities. The study was funded by the Department
of Bioethics at the NIH Clinical Center and the National Center for Minority
Health and Health Disparities and conducted by the Department of Bioethics,
Howard University and the Washington, D.C. Department of Health. In preparation
for this study, Milliman, Inc was asked to estimate the costs of various
interventions related to education, housing, nutrition, employment, healthcare,
healthy behavior, neighborhood improvement, and transportation. Here we
