Annette Rid, MD, PhD
Annette Rid serves as a liaison between the Clinical Center Department of Bioethics and the Division of Aids at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, where she provides ethics consultation and educational support. She is also a Visiting Professor at the Department of Global Health & Social Medicine, King's College London.
Trained in medicine, philosophy and bioethics in Germany, France, Switzerland and the United States, Annette's current research interests span research ethics, global health ethics and justice in health and health care. She has served as an advisor, among others, for the World Health Organization and the World Medical Association and sits on numerous scientific, editorial and other advisory boards. Annette is a Fellow of the Hastings Center.
Before joining the Clinical Center Department of Bioethics, Annette was a Reader (~Associate Professor) at King's College London, United Kingdom, where she was the inaugural co-director of a new Master's programme in Bioethics & Society.
